Blue Jackets 3, Flames 2

Out of the playoff picture, the Columbus Blue Jackets' goal is to play with character. A trait they've had trouble finding lately.

Jason Chimera scored his career-high 15th goal with 2:47 left to help the Blue Jackets end a five-game losing streak with a 3-2 victory over Flames on Friday night.

Manny Malhotra and Nikolai Zherdev also scored for Columbus, which had lost three in a row at home.

Blue Jackets 4, Sharks 1

The Columbus Blue Jackets aren't playing for a playoff spot. They want one next year, though.

Rick Nash scored two goals and the Blue Jackets tied the franchise record for wins by beating the San Jose Sharks 4-1 on Tuesday night.

"It's a lot easier to come, show up and go through the motions but we're playing for something," Nash said. "It was a slow start this year but we're trying to build a lot of momentum right now and gain some chemistry for the start of next season.
